Decoding *Blond(e)*
|
Frank’s always been a complicated lyricist and Blonde is no exception. I’ve spent ages pouring over the lyrics and still struggled to get an overall feel for the meanings of the album. Right now a lot is annotated but it’s mainly one line annotations, little in a bigger context, so I thought it’d be good to make a thread where we can pool ideas and try and crack this future classic. I think the place to start is common things we find throughout the album, so here goes:

Also Futura Free, what do these songs all have in common? That might be the key.
Religious themes. There’s mentions of God or the afterlife in “Pink + White”, “Godspeed”, “Close to You”, Seigfried, “Solo” and probably more I’ve missed. What im
